Free URL Giveaway - We're Closing the Dance of Motherhood

NOTE: Don't forget to update your bookmarks/reader - we've moved, and it just wouldn't be the same without YOU!

With my recent move, I'm not quite sure what to do with this URL. Or another one I have just sitting in my domains account, not doing anything.

So I figured, why not let someone else have at it?

If you're interested in taking over either of the accounts below, leave me a comment or send me an email at danceofmotherhood [at] gmail [dot] com - and it's yours!

On the offbeat chance that we get more than one request for either of these accounts, we'll use random.org as a selection tool. Account turnover will be on August 1, 2008, at which point we will officially close up this blog.

Closing the doors actually means I'll change it back to a blogspot address and set it as a private blog - another reminder that I'm a pack rat and have a hard time throwing things away - lol.

What's the cost to you?

Hmmnnn... payment? Nah. Blog post? Nah. A margarita? Juh-nope.

Just a comment here or an email to let me know if you're interested. :) I already shelled out the $$ for them both, with private registration as an add-on - and I wanna share some love!

UPDATE
: Hurray!! We've got our giveaway winners - thank you Barbara and Haasiegirl for moving quickly on this!

Psst! I'm moving!

Okay, not really. We thought about moving out of this smallish town, but He thinks we should stay. So we're staying. It's not our time yet.

But I am moving blogs! And that - I'm definitely excited about :)

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and wanting to make the change. But how? I just started last night, and I'm slowly moving posts from one to the other.

I know, I know. You can export/import posts in Blogger. But for some reason, I keep getting a 404 error. And I've heard about the ease of re-publishing at a new domain.

But honestly? I'm tired of this template.

It's so.... girly. And fluffy.

Don't get me wrong. I love feminity. I love elegance... simplicity. Simple, but elegant. Elegant, but simple.

But I was a tomboy growing up. And the theme here is somewhat deceiving...

Besides, you don't know the trouble I went through for this template. It cost me a pretty penny, and it took over a month to get it finalized. She actually still owes me a revision. From 2 months ago! Hmph. I didn't want to throw her under the bus, so I remained diplomatic. And kept quiet.

But just looking at it reminds me of the ordeal. And if I simply point this blog to a new domain, guess who's coming along?

This purdy lil' theme.

So... I'm doing it the old-fashioned way, and copying/pasting posts. I've completed 15 so far, only 100+ more to go. Patience, I need patience.

It feels like I'm starting all over again, but hell - a new beginning can be SO refreshing!

I'm hoping you'll be patient with me... blogging just isn't the same without you.

A Makeover at Dance of Motherhood

I'm in love!!

I bumped into "Designed by Lara" a couple of weeks ago in search for a new template. Holy cow! She had some really pretty designs going on - all sold only ONCE. At first I was going to purchase one of her pre-made templates, but as soon as I saw that she creates custom orders as well...

Needless to say, I was sold. :)

And in love with my new makeover. Just in time for my Tuesday Toot!

Thanks Lara!

Pssst! Lara has some specials going on over at her blog. And if you're in need of some tax relief - head on over there today!!!

Stage Notes and Entrecard Top Droppers

Whoa - I think I'm still high over the party this weekend (more to come on that!), but I wanted to take a quick moment to thank my top droppers over the last month!

Please take a moment to visit these incredible bloggers:

Pixelated Thoughts
Sense to Save
Mom of 3 Girls
Entrecard of Joanjoce, LOL!
A Investor
The Loquaciously Verbose Ramblings of 1 Slacker

On a side note, I've been a lil' lax about advertising this last week... I've got a new template in the works (whoo-hoo!!) and will also be updating my ad with the new digs. :)

Speaking of advertising... I'd like to start recognizing my advertisers over the week - more linky love to come next Sunday. And now that my blogging weekend break (and this party!) is over, I totally need to catch up wit' y'all.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Stage Notes | Faulty Template

(sigh)

You know, when I spent several hours changing over to the new Neosapien template, I hadn't planned on having to change it again in LESS than a month...

:(

This is a 4-column template, which would work wonders in organizing your columns... if the right sidebar columns didn't keep dropping d-o-w-n to the bottom of the entire page.

I've checked it in IE7 and in Firefox, but it displays fine for me. Unfortunately, that isn't the case with everyone. Special thanks to Chocolate Party, Real Estate Seminar List and Margaret for the heads up!

How lucky am I to have you guys to take time out of your already busy day to let me know:

"Dette - you have a problem."

[lol - no idea why Apollo 13 just popped into my head]

Okay, enough rambling now - for fellow Entrecarders, I've moved the widget on over to the left for a temporary fix. For the rest of the columns... I'm in the process of working on a new template... which actually, might prove this to be a blessing in disguise.... :)

Mwah!

♪♪ If you fave me up, I'll fave you back ♪♪

Kickin' off the Link2Love:

Note: For instant access to this page, click the "Link2Love" tab above ;)

I'll be doing my best to get updates in here weekly, but if I've somehow missed ya, let me know...

Note: Introducing Snap Shots from Snap.com

I just installed a cool little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of profiles (MySpace, IMDb, Amazon Products, etc.), display inline videos, RSS, photos and more.

Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you "look ahead," before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

However, if you decide this is not for you and it's irking the h*ll outta ya, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot to disable the snap shot feature.

Theatre Now Open!

After jumping between new plants in the backyard, landscaping the front and working on my new template - I'm excited to announce the finishing touches are complete. Well - as best as I can do right now! (See below for new URL and feed)

Skinny Ass tried to get me to plant flowers before the thunderstorm rolled in.

Me: "Hmnnn... you must've thought my name was Suzy."

>>Skinny Ass: "Suzy?"

Me: "Yeah, coz... I ain't much of a homemaker."

C'mon now - if anyone knows me at all, the only time I remember to water the plants is when they're just... about... to die.

And special thanks to FriedClyde for helping me with this template!

Intermission

It's time.

I am SO ready to remodel the stage here at "Dance of Motherhood." While I'm a little nervous about changing it up, I'm excited to give this blog a new face and my own personal stamp.

So... thanks for your patience during this intermission - we'll be back soon. :)

THE CAST

Joe
This is my hubby – we found the perfect hat for him at Disneyland: “Grumpy.” You’d know him if you saw him - he's the tall, skinny one we all point to when we're dancing to "Play that funky music, white boy!"
AKA Skinny Ass

Dette
This is me – a short Filipina who was asking for trouble. Different race, religion, culture and background? We like to spice things up a little. ;) But simply, I’m just a Work-at-Home-Mom (WAHM) trying to make life simple and keep it real with Skinny Ass and three little monsters. Okay, maybe not so little anymore.

Josiah
This is the eldest at 13 years old - his teachers have said he reminds them of Einsten: Brilliant, but completely unorganized - lol. While I sometimes worry he'll daydream his days away, he's got a good head on his shoulders and is a wonderful big brother.
AKA JC

Jacob

This one is 6 years old and honored with "Middle Child" status, Jacob is Mr. Animation. High energy and decidedly spirited, he's the most affectionate one of them all. When I find a letter under my pillow or on my desk, I'm not always sure if it's going to say "I love you" or "I'm mad at you..."
AKA Jake

Joseph

Yes - all three of them are boys and no, we're not trying for a girl. We're D-O-N-E done!! At 3 years old, he's at the age where he doesn't mind giving Mommy kisses, lets me bite on his ears, nose and toes (his toes are my fave!) and hides his smile behind his tongue when he's feeling shy. Now if I can just get him off this minor obsession with SpongeBob...
AKA Joel

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

WARNING
:

I’m not your average soccer mom blogger. I'm a WAHM with a daytime job I love, and happened to bump into an affair with blogging.

lol - I have a problem staying within the "norm." Oh - I try alright. But I guess I'm just not made to fit. ;)

I don’t pack home-made lunches, clean toilets or hit the mom club every morning at Starbuck’s. I buy birthday cakes from the bakery and get a lot of meals from Costco. A lot. I have a problem with swearing and yes, we fight in front of the kids.

But I am BIG on celebrations. Skinny Ass (my hubby) looks for every reason to b*tch and moan. Me? When I’m down, I always usually try to find that blessing in disguise.

I'm a Christian. At times, a struggling one...

I’m not an expert by any means, and won’t presume to give you tips and advice on “How to do this,” or “How to be a better” that. But I'm big on sharing what I've learned or found...

I know I’m a work in progress. I know I’m not perfect. I’ve tried forever to just be “normal” but let’s face it. I’m not. So eff it.

I’m a project manager, at home and at work. And it never stops. I look to His signs for direction, and pray for the strength to actually follow through. But I have my shortcomings – and that’s where the tequila comes in. For all those “What the h*ll was I thinking” moments.

So if you’re still reading this… proceed with caution. Preferably with a margarita in hand.
